Reforestation of Mangroves            

          In order to combat or at least alleviate the occurrence of Red Tide, Mayor LRD focused on the most crucial task of cleaning the coastlines of Sorsogon Bay where Red Tide continued to thrive. This, alongside with the reforestation of Mangroves in the said area made it more conductive to lessen the ill-effects of Red Tide. 

            Being more than aware of the need to establish partnerships with various agencies that are also concerned with environmental preservation, the Local Government Unit of Sorsogon City signed a Memorandum of Agreement with PNOC Energy Development Corporation which is also an advocate in all aspects of ecological protection. 

            An environmentalist himself, and a unique leader with a great political will, Mayor LRD is a symbol and personification of public service. A former military officer, his principles molded him to be bold and undaunted in all his actions so that his desired plans of actions which he believes significant to the local constituents will be carried out and fully implemented. 

            As he personally spearheaded the reforestation of mangroves in Barangay Talisay and Bitan-o/Dalipay, he proved that no boundaries could stop him from doing the job himself. His determination to be able to implement positive changes to the well-being of all Sorsoganons made him a truly noteworthy person in his chosen career.
