THE FRESH MANDATE that the people of Sorsogon City has given me is a challenge that I take seriously. This only proves that our people are truly hungry for change and legitimate progress and in the past three years, we saw what we can achieve when we work together for our dreams. We have several projects lined-up; all are geared towards improving the quality of life of every citizen in this City.  But for this to come about, we need to invest more as a people and not just wait for things to happen.  We all need to get involved and take responsibility for what will happen in the next three years. The City Government shall be firm in utilizing and maximizing our resources to ensure that our people enjoy the privileges of progress. We intend to raise revenues and make all our machineries work to expand services. We aim to modernize our equipment at the City hall to fast track transactions and eradicate idleness and inefficiency. We will take initiatives to open more doors of opportunity and prospects with stakeholders. The people of Sorsogon  City is blessed, not just with our lands and seas and its wealth but we have the heart and resilience to unite for a common goal of making our City not just a land of our dreams but one where we can live our dreams. LAGING DADAMAY (Health Services) provides health services that are within  reach of its constituents, both in preventive and curative aspects. The promotion of healthy citizenry remains the most important concern through the implementation of weekly medical and dental services and health development programs in the barangays. It also includes the nutrition program aimed at attaining nutritional adequacy for all.

 

 

LIKAS DUNONG (Educational Services)   with the City's commitment of increasing literacy rate from pre-schoolers to level, initiated the putting up of the Kiddie Toy Library in from 1 to 12 years old. This administration also provided necessary budget allocation to make education, formal or non-formal, to reach the grassroots.

 

 

DAGAT, LUNTIAN AT DALISAY NA KAPALIGIRAN (Environmental Management) To ensure continuity of the productive condition of our environment, emphasis  was made on the proper use, management, utilization, protection,  rehabilitation of our environment . The City Government building serves as an example of a "no smoking" public place, while the anti-littering ordinance is strictly implemented especially in the downtown areas.

 

Larong Dekalidad ( Sports Development )  In the desire to foster  camaraderie and bonding among city employees, an Inter-Color Sports tournament was held, Sports programs for the youth is done in cooperation with the Sangguniang Kabataan through the conduct of the Under 18 Inter-Barangay and Senior Division Open Summer Basketball Tournament.

 

 

LINGAP DALITA ( Social Services ) is a comprehensive package of social welfare services that are designed to improve the living  conditions of the marginalized sector  in collaboration with the different  agencies. The goal of providing  decent house for the marginalized was realized through the Gawad Kalinga and the Core Shelter Program. The promotion of the welfare of women was strengthened by the creation of Women's Desk and continuous implementation of the "Balay Bukas Palad" that provides temporary shelter, assistance and protection of women.
